Most Internet marketers use the same kinds of methods. Most of them also have similar products and there is not much difference in their qualities either. They use the same strategies to publicize their products on the Internet and to bring in the traffic. Then, why does it so happen that one marketer’s business performs better than another’s?
Where does the difference come in?
The prime difference between a successful online business and a not-so successful one lies in the personalities of the business owners. If you think about yourself as a customer, you will accept that you prefer to go to a particular store even though another store has exactly the same product and probably at a lesser price too. Why is that It’s because you like the ambiance of that store better The same logic applies to online businesses. People like the personality of a particular marketer better.
Place yourself in the position of a casual Internet user. When you surf websites, some websites immediately captivate your attention while others do not, even though they may be similar in their outlook. When you read articles from different authors, some articles catch your eye quickly while others don’t have the same effect, even though all the articles might have the same content. This is a matter of personal choice, actually. It is similar to our biased preferences in terms of the foods we eat, the clothes we wear, the movies we watch or the games we play.
The bottom line is that you will succeed as an Internet marketer if you can influence the highest number of people, because it’s a given that you cannot influence everybody. Even an evangelist cannot do that.
The key to your success lies in knowing what kind of personality works. If you could be what most people are looking for, you could certainly increase in terms of your prospects, wouldn’t you?
When people are using the Internet, they are mainly looking for a friendly person to deal with, who can provide them support and assistance when they need and who isn’t too tightlipped about his or her products and services.
You could do this in various ways. Keeping the content on your blog conversational is one. Adding videos where you speak to your target audience is another. Being open about yourself, such as giving away your name, your contact details and your picture, is yet another. All these things matter a lot. They add to your online personality. People feel more comfortable with such people and they don’t mind doing business with them.
