Today on the Internet it is estimated that there are over 20,000 new users loging in for their first time everyday. Of this 20k of new Internet users it is also estimated that one third are looking to make an extra income from their new found communications tool.
Some go the road of delving into Internet marketing and try their hand at either reselling other marketer’s products through affiliate sales. Some even create their own digital products and recruit their own affiliates to resell for them. But the vast majority of these opportunity seekers are looking for a no cost, easy to do revenue stream.
There exists many different avenues one could take in seeking out extra monthly revenue that meets the no cost and easy to do criteria. Two of the now popular means for achieving this are the PTC and PTR, Paid to Click and Paid to Read, systems and programs.
Basically what these programs are is a website will pay you a certain amount of cash for either clicking on a link to a website advertiser through either a banner link or text link. Or the websites will send you emails that contain these website advertiser links within them.
The pay scales for these clicks range anywhere from one twentieth of a cent to as much as 500 dollars each. A wide range of pay for the clicks to say the least. Each website that sends the user the links either by a web page link or email will have what they call a minimum payout before the user can cash out.
For the most part the minimum cash out levels are small, some as low as one dollar. These websites usually pay the least for the clicks. The websites that pay the huge amounts of money for the clicks likewise have huge minimum payout levels as well.
For instance one of the most popular website programs that has a $20 minimum pay per click on their emails has an astronomical $500,000 minimum payout level. However all these website programs have both a free member level and an upgraded member level. It is usually the free member levels that have the large payout levels.
Upgrading to a paid member status usually at the websites will significantly lower minimum payouts, but at a cost. The smaller websites will usually offer such upgrades for around $50 or so while the websites that pay the big bucks for clicking banners and emails may charge as much as $600 for an upgraded member status.
Now there is another key to the success in these programs and that is getting referrals in your downline. This means you get others to join the website program through a special website link you send them. When they do the referring user will earn a percentage of the pay the referral clicks.
This is where the money can start to add up quickly in these programs. For example if a website offers to pay you a matching one cent for each click from your referrals and you have ten referrals then your daily pay from the website has jumped from ten cents to $1.10 for each person clicking ten ads per day.
Most of these websites will also sell off referrals to their members as well. They get these referrals to resell by having users get registered into their program via a direct link to the website signup or by having new members that have somehow broken the affiliate link during the signup process. The latter of these two scenarios are the most common.
Most of these website owners recognize the huge monetary gain they have in being able to sell these referral packages to their members so they will purposely make it easy during the signup process for the affiliate link to be broken.
So is this a worth while way to make an extra income on the Internet? Possibly, it all depends on which website program the user joins. For the most part you can tell the honest and trustworthy websites from the scams by the type of ads they list for the members to click on.
If the website has tons of links to pages that are nothing but banner farms, pages that are put up only for displaying banners, then the website may be questionable. If the ads are legitimate websites that have created attractive and compelling ads then that is a good sign that the advertisers trust the website owners and a good bet the user clicking on the ads for pay can as well.
On a final note this method of making money on the Internet is by far not get rich quick. In fact it may take a couple of months on some website to earn enough to be able to cash out. Of course having active referrals will help in cashing out quicker, but it’s not guaranteed.
