Monitoring the Latest Internet Marketing Craze-FTM

What’s the latest fad?

 Why FTM of course!

Well it seems everyone has jumped on the FTM Wave or Fixed Term Membership bandwagon. Yes -when one mode of getting people pulled into the latest internet wave dies, a new one starts up again. This as usual is directed at those poor folks who want to make money on the internet who are not internet marketers and yet you find yourself jumping on every bandwagon that comes along.

So I always tell you like it is and this my Rant and my FTM review. For the record down below, I will review the FTM program by the latest king of FTM Jimmy D. Brown who launches his Membernaire program.

So to repeat- how much money do you intend to make? Not how cool and fun it is to have the latest, hottest guru teach me another new internet marketing scheme with a new name. You know yourself if I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU because last year you took a course guaranteed to make you money and you are still not making money –period.

You are however enjoying the fact you are busy doing something and learning something. I can’t stress enough "knowledge is not power" unless you are a teacher period.

That "knowledge is power" statement is a truly academic saying because we all grew up with and every internet marketer knows this statement is false (under the cover title of "coaches’ trainer" or "small business trainer" - you pick the name or title).  They know this and you know this because they know they are TEACHERS and They Are Teaching the Latest FAD to people like you for a FEE.

How do you know this because they make money from teaching, you get feel good feelings because you learn and walk away happy. However think back to a course you took last year and ask yourself – ARE YOU MAKING MONEY?

I absolutely guarantee you that if you are not an internet marketer, then you are not making money. So my final point before I review the FTM game is this – if you want to make money online – you have to market your business. Your internet marketing teacher know this and you have to realize that just like you pay for a college course – your teachers will gladly let you pay for them to teach you the latest internet marketing wave. Notice the same people who taught you last year are teaching you this year.  However are you Making Money?

To bring this home, honestly answer the following questions.

·   Are still not making money? Yes _ or NO _ and

·  Are now learning another new money making strategy?  Yes _ or NO _ and

·  Are you are being taught by the same gurus who last year had another money making method?  Yes _ or NO _ and worse

·  Are you taking the new course with the same guru who taught you last year Yes _ or NO _

If you answered mostly yes, you are stuck in learning heaven. Yes? Be honest with you. You, deep down know this because it is a year later YOU ARE STILL LEARNING but you are STILL NOT MAKING MONEY!!!!

To be clear - You are not making money and this has nothing to do with the internet marketer. This has to do with you. You hate to take ACTION and MAKE something happen. YOU HAVE A HUGE FEAR OF SUCCESS. IT FEELS GOOD TO LEARN. Admit it and Get Your SELF off the merry Go round or it is absolutely guaranteed that next year you will be in the same place. LEARNING and NOT Making Money.

Enough said – end rant start review

So what is Fixed Term Membership (Coaching, Training, etc) It is the latest rage all over the web because it allows for hands off coaching. Its really email coaching and I am lost as to why people thing this is something new. You are essentially sending emails to your client. But everybody has an FTM program now and be prepared to see more.

Problem I have and how I tell my customers who have sent me request to setup fixed term membership sites is I refer them to what they do already.

5 steps to FTM are:

1. Create Your Content

2. Create Your Notification Process

3. Create Your Payment Process

4. Create Your Sales Page

5. Implement Your Marketing Program

That’s it. If you know this then just DO IT. Take Action.

Now the simplicity and why I say most people can do this in a very short time will be shown as I walk you through the process in more detail.

Fixed term Membership in 5 steps.

1. Your Lesson - Build 5 or 10 PDF documents. You decide the length of your educational or coaching lesson. You create your advice in Microsoft Word and convert to PDF - nothing new.  Just create the X number of lessons. If you do coaching already, you already have lessons.

Comment: If you don’t know how to type up a lesson in Microsoft Word, you are clearly in the wrong business and wasting your time, I don’t care who is coaching you.

2. Your Autoresponder – used to direct people to get your information. Write 5 short introduction emails. Email 1 says thank you for signing up and email 2 tells them how to get your content.Your options for delivering information are:

·   You can attach the PDF to the next autoresponder.

·   You can create a webpage on your website with a PDF download link

Comment: if you don’t know how to attach a PDF in your autoresponder or create a download link on a webpage \, believe me this is a one step process which every autoresponder gives detailed instructions on how to. This is truly a no brainer step.

3. Your Payment Process - Use a standard "buy now" Paypal button to let people pay your fee. Paypal lets you create and load a Paypal button in about 3 steps.

Comment: Anybody who has created a PAYPAL button knows this is not hard at all, you can just ignore most of the payment button options and have your pay now button working in less then 5 minutes.

4. Your Sales Page - Create sales copy page that sells and put the "buy now" button on the page and to let people sign up for your program. You can use the front of your website or use a standalone page or make a new one.

Comment: If you don’t know how to write a sales page – then I say what are you doing creating an FTM site? Think about my rant, you are in the new money making adventure because of the SALES PAGE!! Hello! You need to know what problem you are solving first. Take a sales writing course – there are a zillion guys who can help you create compelling sales copy or just outsource it and be done.

5. Your Marketing Plan - Advertise and market the sales webpage- do your normal marketing. What do you use now to market your other products? This is where ACTION Takes place.  This is where you should start. Article Marketing, BLOG Marketing, Solo Ads, Article Writing, Adwords, Video Marketing etc. However you normally advertise, just get busy.

Comment: You are learning something new. You get stuck in steps 1 - 4 and not doing anything else or at best doing very little of step 5. That is why this step 5 is really a "create and implement" your marketing plan. If all you want to do is learn, then stop at step 4 because you have done that already on the last program. Believe it or not some of you have stopped at step 3.

For do It Yourselfers

The problem is most folks think they are building their business and they are really just learning again, feeling good and building the internet marketer’s business. You already know a lot, so here is the simple 5 step process that you can follow.

  1. Step 1. How to create Content. Develop a document with information to tell a customer what you want them to know. You have content you can repurpose or learn how to.

  2. Step 2. How to create a Paypal button – it’s a simple 3 step process that is not hard. Or use whatever you use for payment now.

  3. Step 3. How to create an Autoresponder message. Use what ever autoresponder you are using now.

  4. Step 4. How to create a Sales page. You can use the front page of your website.  You can sell of a separate standalone page.

  5. Step 5. How to create a list building program. There are a zillion ways to advertise and you have to pick one you like and just do it. The recommendation is what you like to do not what the guru likes to do.

So that is it, no magic at all.  Just because the guru makes it sound exciting does not mean that you will make money.

Recommendation

So what do I recommend on jumping on the FTM FAD program?

First review what is being offered and then match to your capabilities and then decide.

Review a Product

For example let’s use the latest king of FTM Jimmy D. Brown launches Membernaire program.

He tells you immediately that you can have your site set up in 48 Hours. He states if you are a guru then you can be operating ASAP.  He knowledge in his program comes from advanced strategies.

He also states 5  Reasons Why Starting A Traditional Membership Site Is A Bad Idea

  1. Fixed-Term Membership (FTM) sites can be setup in 48 hours or less!
  2. Fixed-Term Membership (FTM) sites are easy to maintain!
  3. Fixed-Term Membership (FTM) sites require no fancy, pricey add-ons!
  4. Fixed-Term Membership (FTM) sites require very little time!
  5. Fixed-Term Membership (FTM) sites keep subscribers active!

It is true because when you look at his sales copy, or the steps above even Jimmy D Brown knows that honestly the benefits are in the additional programs and strategy behind the initial program not just because it is the latest fad.

I love the fact that Jimmy D Brown is straightforward about where the benefits of his program come from.

  1. Traditional membership sites require too much work setting up
  2. Traditional membership sites have built-in pressures to create content.
  3. Traditional membership sites require pricey and complicated scripts.
  4. Traditional membership sites demand a large investment of time.
  5. Traditional membership sites include a continual battle to keep subscribers.

Review Your Capabilities

No - if you do all this already, already have studied all the steps already and as you know already, have just never implemented them, then why are you taking another of the same gurus latest fad course. Don’t do it.

Maybe – if you do some of the steps already, then I recommend that you learn the steps you need and go Just DO IT on your own. Unless you like what you see on a sales page.

Yes - if you read the sales persons page- and see if there are real benefits to you above the 5 steps of building an FTM website. Are they worth the cost.

I would go so far as to say, if you can handle the first 3 steps above, then you go review the sales page (Jimmy D. Brown Membernaire). Determine if it offers real benefits in steps 4 or 5, then take it.

Just remember, I absolutely guaranteed this FAD too shall pass and you shall have made the Internet marketer rich learning again and next year or sooner there will be a new fad and you will be learning again but not making money.

Final plea to all who continue jumping on the latest internet bandwagon

  1. Regardless of whose FTM program you come across drop me a note below and let me know and I will review it.
  2. If you join an FTM program and need help – send me a note and I will endeavor to get you past your technical limitation. No strings just talk or email me.
  3. if you want the advance strategies and a resource list to help you then sin in and get a simple process to make it happen.
